FIDE bans Grandmaster for cheating; allows jeans in dress code

In a recent announcement, FIDE punished Ukrainian Grandmaster Kirill Shevchenko for cheating during the Spanish Team Championship last October. Shevchenko's GM title was revoked, and he received a three-year ban after being caught with cell phones in the restrooms. Responding to player requests, FIDE also updated its dress code, now permitting jeans to be worn at Grand Swiss events.
