Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has shared a heartfelt message to Harvey Elliott after the 22-year-old completed a transfer to Aston Villa on deadline day. Elliott joins Villa on an initial season-long loan from Liverpool, with an obligation to buy.
Villa manager Unai Emery expressed delight at securing the England youth international, who brings fresh talent to bolster the club’s attacking options. The winger will not automatically start, but the move gives him a chance to play regularly and showcase his potential.
Elliott leaves Liverpool after struggling to cement a permanent place in the starting XI, particularly following the late arrival of Swedish striker Alexander Isak. During his time at Anfield, Elliott contributed 15 goals and 20 assists in 149 appearances, demonstrating his creativity and flair.
Salah, who has seen Elliott grow into a promising talent, took to social media to wish his teammate well. “You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club,” the Egyptian wrote.
