India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma has left his fans stunned with a remarkable fitness transformation ahead of his return to international cricket. Rohit is set to be in action in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia in October 2025. It will mark the first appearance for the opening batter in international cricket after India’s Champions Trophy 2025 triumph in March, where he was adjudged Player of the Match for his match winning innings of 76 (83) in the final.

Ahead of his comeback, images of Rohit’s stunning transformation have been going viral on social media where the 38-year-old is looking a lot leaner. Recently, his look at the airport has been gaining traction on social media, where the India ODI captain can be seen dressed in all black outfit, looking fit as ever for the upcoming series.

Recently, the star batter cleared the pre-season fitness test along with Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Jitesh Sharma, conducted at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. Apart from the now standard Yo-Yo test, a DXA Scan, which is a simplified method to test bone density, was also done during the fitness test.

Ahead of the Australia ODI series, Rohit may also appear for India A against Australia A in three one-day matches at Kanpur on September 30, October 3 and 5. The confirmation for that is yet to come but he’s is likely to stay back in the city for a few more days to train at the CoE.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur are the other players, who went through the test at the CoE without any alarm. Other members of India’s Asia Cup squad such as Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav and Riyan Parag (standby) have played in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals for their respective Zonal teams, and there could not be a separate fitness test for them now.

India are set to begin their Asia Cup campaign on September 10 against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai.
