India pacer Jasprit Bumrah struck an emotional chord with fans after sharing a picture with his son Angad on Instagram. The image, posted on Saturday, showed the father and child taking a quiet stroll on a sidewalk, with Angad reaching to hold his father’s hand. The post, which melted hearts online, garnered close to one lakh likes within half an hour.
The touching moment comes as Bumrah prepares for India’s Asia Cup campaign, beginning September 9. India open their tournament against UAE on September 10, though the fast bowler is unlikely to play every game given workload management, as per former Royal Challengers Bengaluru and South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers.

He featured in three Tests against England earlier this summer, part of a careful schedule designed to protect India’s premier pacer.
Bumrah, who will turn 32 in December, continues to balance personal milestones with professional demands. His son Angad will celebrate his fourth birthday on September 4, just days before India begin their Asia Cup journey.
Meanwhile, former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif has thrown his weight behind Bumrah, particularly in response to criticism after the Manchester Test. “Open your mouth carefully because you mentioned that whatever matches we played in England, we lost when he played.
You better look at how many matches he has played and India won them, go and find out that as well, regardless of the format,” Kaif said.
He added, “When he plays, how many times does he give match-winning performances? Go and find that stat as well. Bumrah is a promising diamond of India. You do not report him. There are no stains on him.”
With the Asia Cup on the horizon, Bumrah’s time off with his son has taken the spotlight ahead of the tournament.
