The latest ICC Test rankings showcase significant movement following a week of compelling performances in both Test and T20I cricket. Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings, fueled by his remarkable twin centuries at Headingley. His scores of 134 and 118 made him only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Andy Flower of Zimbabwe in 2001, to achieve centuries in both innings of a match. This feat also marks Pant as the first Indian wicketkeeper-batter to surpass 800 rating points in Test history.
Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter globally, with his fellow countryman Harry Brook closely following in second place. India’s Shubman Gill has climbed five places to 20th after a century in the first innings.
